The New Squarespace

A few things to get out of the way. I've been an avid Squarespace user for quite some time. It's light and effective, and also offers the user the ability to get under the hood if needed. For years, I've been looking for an adequate blog platform. Something that was easy to write in, and had the clean, clear sense of purpose, like you find in an app like iA Writer. Most recently, I've been using Tumblr, which, in principle, is a home run in an otherwise abandoned field, but it just isn't as reliable as I would like to see. The thing that attracts me most to a service like Tumblr, or even Wordpress for that matter, is the sense of community. The community of creatives and innovators of the web, joined together, disparate in their approaches, but united in their convictions. The new Squarespace, V6, which I've been testing for a little over a week now, absolutely sparkles. It's a gem, with one great, insightful user interface implementation after the next. It'll become my definitive place to write, and to share projects, stories, passions, photos and more. A community is in the making...
