Every Picture

Every Picture

Brad Downey, an American artist, perhaps best known for his art film, "Public Discourse", a documentary about street art, recently excavated Bansky's, "Every Picture Tells a Lie", as part of his project, examining 'layers of paint'. The Banksy piece was previously obscured by ensuing artists at the Kuenstlerhaus Bethanien. The BBC ran a piece on the story. Interestingly, when a contemporary art specialist was prompted to respond to inquiries as to what will happen to the piece when the exhibit came to an end, "he said it might be possible to sell the piece, providing authentication can be provided." This, of course, follows the incident with the "Gorilla in the Pink Mask", which I wrote about previously.
