The Italian filmmaker Michelangelo Antonioni sent his Russian counterpart, Andrei Tarkovsky, a polaroid camera in the 1970's. The polaroid, a medium so seemingly antithetical to the great, expansive landscapes of Tarkovsky, inspired an incredible, and perhaps unexpected, series of intimate photographs.You can view the digital images on this Russian blog.
